Fiber Internet Has Arrived!
With great excitement, we can announce that there are now Heartland REMC members with high-speed fiber internet! The first four members received fiber this week. Tests are showing the system is performing as expected with fast speeds and reliable signals.
If you are in the Lafayette Zone and are pre-registered, please keep an eye on your email and phone messages. The installation crews will be working in the Lafayette zone over the next several months. Members within specific built-out subzones will start receiving notices to schedule installation starting as early as next week.
You may be wondering, what zone is next? Fiber deployment is based on member demand. By going to www.heartlandtwn.com and clicking the zones tab, you can see what zones have the most pre-registrations. The more pre-registrations your zone has, the sooner you will receive service. If you have pre-registered, but want to know what zone you are in, please sign in to your account to view your designation on the dashboard.
Following the demand, we can announce that main line crews are currently working in the Lincolnville Zone. If you live in this zone, you may have already seen workers in your area. These crews are installing the large main fiber lines that attach directly to the utility pole.
With the increased demand in work from home positions and e-learning, TWN Communications crews are working as quickly as possible to get service installed.
