Construction Crews Are Working Swiftly and Safely to Get Fiber Built

Now more than ever, we are seeing an overwhelming demand for reliable high-speed internet in the Heartland REMC service territory.  Even with today’s uncertainty, we continue to push this project forward with some exciting news:  Currently, we have four crews working in the area!

Two crews are working on the main fiber line, think of this as the transmission line that will carry the load throughout the territory.  The third crew is working on the underground distribution network in the Lafayette CO Zone.  This distribution network is what is located directly outside homes.  Finally, the fourth crew is working on the communication buildings throughout the territory that will house equipment. 

All four of these crews are practicing safe social distancing and working in small groups to follow CDC recommendations.  This will allow us to continue to build out the high-speed Internet system without delay.  Of course, this will be evaluated regularly to make sure the safety of our crews come first.
